Club Country meets every Friday at the Riverside Community
Center on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, except for
November 26, Christmas (and Eve) and New Years (and Eve), or a
hurricane! At 7:00P.M. there is a line and partner dance teach,
followed by "open dancing" until 10P.M. This club is a volunteer
organization. Our dance lessons are usually given by club
members or a visiting guest instructor. Music is provided by a
DJ. Club Country's annual membership dues are $10 per
person. Our membership begins April 1st and ends March 31st. All
our weekly dances are open to the general public. Admission
cost, $2 members and $4 non-members.
Please Note:
Bottled water and soda are available for sale. You
may bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages if you
wish. (No alcohol is allowed in the Community Center.)

| The
original club was started on March 3, 1989 and was called the FCWDA
(Florida Country Western Dance Association). Pam & Gary Sheffield were
the originators and the first presidents. Dances were held at the Hall
of 50 States in downtown Ft. Myers. The dances were held there until
January 2002 when FCWDA moved out to Riverside Community Center. |
The members all loved it at
Riverside Community Center and decided to stay. (Both facilities are
owned by the City of Ft Myers.)
The original FCWDA grew to
over 250 members.
In May of 1998, the Association was reformed to become Club Country.
